So far, I have created 4 commissions, and I am working on 2 more. One thing I've found out is that doing commissions doesn't give me a whole lot of time to "play". And let's be honest, that's what my art is all about these days!lol It's the part that makes it fun.

When I'm doing a commission for someone, I'm locked into their colors and feelings and not my own. I'm so busy trying to create something that I think they will like that sometimes I stop myself short just to do that. I'm way more critical on a commission than I am on something I'm painting "just because".

So, after I complete these 2, I will take a break and create just for me. That way I can try a few new things and just relax. Maybe it's just my anxiety, but I found this to be true for me. I need to keep the fun part in the forefront! Always!

This is one of the paintings I played around with before starting my commissions.

Abstract painting with vibrant green, blue, and yellow layers. Text reads "Still working on her..." on a textured surface. Dark background.
